This Oreo rolat is a fun twist on a classic dessert! You can turn any cake into a roll, and it’s a perfect treat to enjoy with family. Here’s how to make it:
Ingredients for the Sponge:
- 5 eggs
- 5 tablespoons sugar
- 5 tablespoons flour
- ½ packet of baking powder
- 2 tablespoons cocoa powder
- 2 tablespoons water
Ingredients for the Filling:
- 250 g Mascarpone (or another cream cheese)
- 2 generous tablespoons Nutella
- 1 package of Oreo cookies (or more if you love Oreos)
- 3 packets of whipped cream powder (or whipped cream mix)
- 500 ml milk (instead of the usual 600 ml, reduce it to 500 ml)
Instructions:
Make the Sponge Cake:
- Start by beating the egg whites until stiff.
- In a separate bowl, whisk the egg yolks with sugar until light and fluffy. Add the flour and baking powder and mix everything well.
- Gently fold the egg whites into the egg yolk mixture in three parts.
- Divide the mixture into two portions. To one part, add cocoa powder and water, and mix well.
- Transfer the two batters into freezer bags and cut a small hole in the corner. Pipe the batter onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, creating a striped pattern, as shown in the picture.
- Bake in a preheated oven at 170°C (340°F) for about 10 minutes.
- Once baked, transfer the cake to a towel, remove the paper, and turn it onto another towel. Roll it up tightly and let it cool.
Prepare the Filling:
- Mix the Mascarpone and Nutella together until smooth.
- Whip the whipped cream powder with 500 ml of milk to form stiff peaks.
- Gently fold the whipped cream into the cream cheese and Nutella mixture.
- Add in the crushed Oreos and mix gently to combine.
Assemble the Rolat:
- Unroll the cooled sponge and spread the filling evenly on top.
- Roll it up tightly again and refrigerate for a short time to allow it to firm up.
