Soft Homemade Rolls

These soft rolls are a perfect snack or side dish for any meal! The dough comes together easily, and the results are fluffy, tender rolls with a slight sheen on top. Here's the recipe for these delicious rolls:

Ingredients:

  • 550g flour
  • 250ml lukewarm milk
  • 20g fresh yeast (half a cube)
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 2 teaspoons sugar
  • 100ml oil
  • 1 egg
  • 1 egg white
  • 1 teaspoon apple cider vinegar

Directions:

Prepare the Dough: In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, yeast, salt, and sugar. Add the lukewarm milk, oil, egg, egg white, and apple cider vinegar. Mix everything together and knead until the dough is smooth and elastic. Let it rise in a warm place for 35-40 minutes, or until it doubles in size.

Shape the Rolls: Once the dough has risen, transfer it to a floured surface. Divide the dough into your desired roll size—about 18 pieces of 54 grams each (or more depending on how big you want them). Roll each piece into an oval shape, then roll them tightly to form a crescent.

Second Rise: Arrange the rolls on a baking tray lined with parchment paper, leaving some space between each one. Cover and let them rise for another 30 minutes, or until they double in size.

Egg Wash: In a small bowl, beat the egg yolk with 3 tablespoons of water and a pinch of salt. Brush this mixture over the tops of the rolls for a shiny golden finish.

Bake: Place the rolls into a cold oven and set the temperature to 200°C (390°F). Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until they are golden brown on top.

Finishing Touch: Once baked, brush the rolls with a bit of oil to keep them soft. Allow them to cool slightly before serving.

These rolls are light, soft, and perfect for any occasion. If you want to make a larger batch, you can double the ingredients and use 1kg of flour. Adjust the egg white slightly for consistency. Enjoy!
